 Citrine is derived from the French word, Citron, which means lemon.  Funny how a stone named after a lemon is considered the “Money Stone” or the “Stone of Abundance”.  Citrine can refer to several varieties of quartz.  You may see it referred to as quartz or the Herkimer Citrine.   It is usually a yellow, golden or lemon colored and anything that is too brown or too orange may be a heat treated amethyst.   While pretty, a heat treated amethyst will not bring you the money you seek.   

      Natural Citrine is rare and can be found in Brazil, Russia, France, Great Britain, Spain, Madagascar, and the United States.  It’s energy is projective in nature and is associated with the Sun and is a fire element.  Aries, Gemini, Leo, & Libra are tied to Citrine.   Citrine is very effective on the solar plexus chakra and linked to the number six in numerology.  This stone is the “feel better” stone, there are really no bad qualities about Citrine.   

    Not only does Citrine bring you wealth, it helps you feel better as a person.  Citrine enhances your ability to learn, teach, study, write, or be creative in general.  It is a powerful cleanser and re-generator.  It provides warm, generous, and creative essences around you.   Citrine does fade in sunlight but the crystal never needs to be cleansed.  

    It has the uncanny ability to change, dissipate, and ground negative energy.  Citrine is like that one “kindred soul” best friend you tell everything to~they never judge or condemn you but show you a better, more generous way to be.  It is also called the “generous stone” and encourages you to share what you have while helping you hold on to what you have.  It attracts wealth, prosperity, and success.     

     Natural, raw Citrine is best for utilizing the properties.  Place the crystal in the wealth corner of your house or business.  The wealth corner is typically the farthest back left corner of your house as you enter the front door.  Citrine spheres are great for meditation and are used for cleansing the solar plexus chakra as well as activating the crown chakra and opening intuition.
